Job Description

  • Clinical Service Delivery To ensure the smooth movement of patients in the hospital to achieve higher levels of patient satisfaction. To provide feedback on medical services to the MD/MS. To strengthen and consolidate initiatives such as inpatient/outpatient package formation, cost controlling and those which may come in future. Attend to patient-related complaints expeditiously and to escalate them to appropriate authorities as required. To meet long-stay and critical patients and their family members. Medical Operations To act as interface between medical services and various departments like business development, legal services, billing, IT, and provide medical inputs for the smooth functioning of the other departments. To assist in the design and redesign various processes to achieve higher levels of efficiency in medical care and other systems. To be responsible for ensuring the departmental equipment and work area are kept in good working order to ensure patient and operator safety. To analyse workload and utilisation data pertaining to various ICUs, OTs and other areas and draft recommendations based upon the conclusions thereon for planning, expansion and growth. Medical Manpower To provide feedback to the MD/MS on the adequacy on the number of Residents across the hospital. To prepare duty roster for Residents. To prepare ER duty roster for Consultants-on-Call. Compliance, Accreditation and Audit To assist in the coordination and implementation of NABH and JCI guidelines and protocols. To assist in the closure of non-compliance observations in internal audits and Medical Process Assurance (MPA) audits. Academics and Research To coordinate academic programmes being run in hospital such as DNB, diploma courses and fellowships. To explore the possibilities and facilitate in initiating DNB programmes in various specialties and super specialties. To plan and promote continuous professional education programmes for doctors, nurses, and paramedicals. To explore the feasibility of various research projects and coordinate research activities in various departments. To help HR conduct training needs analysis exercises and organise training for Residents. Medical Stores and Equipment To help SCM coordinate with various departments for the purchase and procurement of new drugs and consumables. To coordinate with the Biomedical Engineering department for rented equipment. Medical Records Compliance To ensure adequate documentation of medical records. To audit documents for completeness and appropriateness i.e. consent forms. Committee Secretariat To assist the MD/MS in providing secretariat support to various hospital committees. This includes writing minutes and matters arising, drafting agendas, disseminating the papers and following-up on action points. Medical Administrator on Duty To take a round of all areas of the hospital. To ensure completion of all medical records. To ensure availability of doctors and all services. To ensure no investigations and referrals remain pending.
